The reds went out of the FA Cup to Isthmian North side Brentwood Town last night. With a large crowd at Coles Park, BT Sports camera's in the ground, expectation was high from our community superbly supporting our side once again.

Brentwood pegged us back for long periods in the first 20 minutes of the match, pressing sharply, attacking with pace and creating chances. It was Brentwood that went ahead from a right wing cross which was headed in at the far post for 1-0 by Oyenuga.

Brentwood still pressed but Salamina should have scored after Harrison Georgiou linking up with his brother Charlie, had his shot saved at the front post by Preston Edwards in Goal. Freddy Tandon then hit the post from a deep free kick.

Salamina went in search of a goal and it came from the legendary figure of Deniz Mehmet. He won the ball off the fall back, cut inside the edge of the box and curled a delightful goal past the Brentwood keeper on the stroke of Half time. 1-1

The second half saw Salamina grow in confidence, with the fast breaking Brentwood team causing us problems.

We thought we went 2-1 up when Freddy Tandon headed home, only for the referee to rule out the goal for a foul, which still no one knows who from.

Brentwood scored their second with 10 minutes left on the clock, a left wing cross somewhere with no range finding its way into our goal from a deflection. 2-1 Brentwood.

Salamina went in search of an equalise, Richard Georgiou missing with a diving header, then a scramble seeing the ball bounce off the inside of the post and back into the Brentwood keepers arms.

The final 4 minutes was played out with three red cards. Two Brentwood players sent off, and our own Luke Foster after he was fouled.
