New Salamis first foray into the Cup as a Non-League Saturday side saw them entertain Sandridge Rovers at Enfield Town FC.

Both sides started brightly with New Salamis with the vast majority of the possession. The first clear chance of the game came from Sandridge and a smart save by debutant Bobby Smith, kept the scores at 0-0.

Minutes later Salamina went into the lead when Charlie Georgiou blocked the defender's clearance and it went into the net for 1-0. Salamina's second goal swiftly followed. A great run down the right from Richard Georgiou, a low cross, Harrison & Charlie Georgiou both dummied the ball and Ted Llewelyn smashed the ball home for 2-0. The third goal arrived just before half time, when Sean Bonnet Johnson drove the ball home from the edge of the Sandridge Box. Half time 3-0.

The second half was more of the same Salamina dominating possession and Sandridge playing on the break. Controversy rained when the referee failed to award a clear spot kick to Salamina, and in the fall out, he sent off Chris Arthur for protesting to vigourously.

Salamina though carried on their dominance and went further ahead when Harrison Georgiou scored with a low drive, which the keeper could not hold for 4-0. Again another controversial decision by the referee, giving Sandridge a penalty with both teams bemused by the award. Sandridge despatched the penalty for 4-1. Salamina pushed for a fifth goal and it came from the penalty spot, after a clear handball. Richard Georgiou despatched it with ease. Final score 5-1 New Salamis into the 3rd round of the Aubrey Cup.
