Match Day 22 Result: London FA Senior Trophy Quarter Final
New Salamis 2 - 0 Sporting Club Thamesmead
New Salamis progressed into the Semi Final of the London FA Senior Trophy following a very good win and performance vs Step 6 side Sporting Club Thamesmead from the Southern Counties East League.
Their reward is an away tie vs high flying Bridon Ropes from the same Division on February the 9th.
This was an enthralling game, end to end in the first half punctuated with a fantastic chopped goal from an acute angle by Harrison Georgiou for a slim 1-0 lead for Salamina at half time.
Salamina came out the stronger in the second half to extend the lead to 2-0 again another delightful chip into the far corner by yes you guessed it by Harrison Georgiou. 2-0.
Harrison thought he had his hat trick when he chipped the keeper for the third time but the linesman was not up with play and missed a certain goal.
The last 15 minutes saw Thamesmead pile on the pressure, but Salamina stood strong and withheld everything thrown at them to move into the Semi Final. A very satisfying performance.
