Match Day 24 Result: New Salamis 4 - 3 Cuffley FC

New Salamis faced Cuffley for the third time this season, and having been successful in both League Games faced them in the Aubrey Cup 3rd round, with a quarter final awaiting the winner.

Salamina started very strongly pinning Cuffley in their half for large parts of the first half, but with no real chances to test the keeper, and only a few wayward shots to claim as chances, but with most of possession and a Cup game there is always a sucker punch.

Cuffley were to take the lead in the last minute of the half from a free kick that was cleared, only for the ball to be crossed back in and a bullet header from a Cuffley player to put them up 1-0 at half time.

The second half saw Salamina again with most of the possession and in the 60th Minute a chipped ball into Harrison Georgiou's chest saw a Cuffley player attack the ball but take out Harrison. Penalty. Richard Georgiou stepped up and it was 1 -1. Theme went end to end now with Salamina pushing for a winner and leaving a few gaps at the back for Cuffley. Charlie Crowley produced a great double save to keep it at 1-1.

Salamina then scored a fantastic goal to make it 2-1. pass, pass, pass and more passing, Harrison Georgiou then found George Lutaaya and he slipped the ball passed the goalkeeper for 2-1 in the 89th minute.

The game still wasn't over, Cuffley with a long ball into the Salamina penalty area, everyone went up for the ball and the ball ended up in the top corner for 2-2 and the game went into extra time.

Extra time saw Salamina totally dominate. Richard Georgiou put the reds 3-2 up holding off 3 defenders before turning and scoring. Then Richard completed his hat-trick following a flowing move for 4-2. Cuffley still had fight in them and with a minute left scored again for 4-3
and Salamina move into the Quarter final of the League Cup.
