FA Vase First Qualifying Round

New Salamis 4 - 0 Codicote

Our first ever game in the FA Vase and we did not disappoint. The team as one performed with great determination from the first whistle to last to make sure we went through to round two.

We dominated from era early on and were rewarded in the 11th minute when Courtney Austin burst through onto Andy Anastasiou's through ball took a touch steadied himself and despatched his shot into the back of the net 1-0.

Charlie Georgiou was causing havoc in the Codicote defence, and it was not long before we went further ahead. Richard Georgiou burst into the box and was brought down. Penalty !. He stepped up sent the keeper the wrong 2-0 on 18 minutes. The reds well on top.

We then had another chance to go further ahead, again from the penalty stop, but this time the keeper made a fine save with his feet. We cruised the rest of the half and went in 2-0 up.

The second half saw us start just like the first. 4 minutes into the half Richard burst into the area and slotted the ball home 3-0. Again we pushed and then were awarded our 3rd penalty of the game the Codicote number six was having a torrid game conceding all three penalties. This time Courtney stepped up and scored from the spot. 4-0, 53 minutes gone.

We controlled the rest of the game and comfortably won 4-0. We know face Tower Hamlets FC in the second Qualifying Round on Friday 13th September 2019.

We are hoping for a big crowd and hope the community comes out to support us.
