Match Day 14 Result : New Salamis 1 - 6 Eynesbury Rovers
Saturday 12th October 2019
Our FA Vase dream ended following a 6-1 defeat to Eynesbury Rovers. For 60 minutes of the match we were still in the match, but for some outrageous finishing from Eynesbury.
The first half was a great Cup match, Eynesbury taking the lead from a great volley on the far right of our area. Deniz Mehmet was having a great game for the reds and forced a great save from the keeper, George Lutaaya followed up but somehow the goal was disallowed for offside.
Half time 1-0.
The second half saw Eynesbury score early with a long range effort which gave Bobby no chance in goal, with the ball skidding off the wet pitch. 2-0.
Deniz then won a penalty and Courtney finished for 2-1. Our heads were up. The Eynesbury keeper then made another good save.
Controversial decision of the match came when Deniz ran with the ball from his own half beat the Eynesbury defence clean through on the left the Linesman flagged for offside, denim had not released the ball.
Eyensbury then score from a rebound at a free kick for 3-1, another great strike followed for
4-1 then a penalty for 5-1. A delight fun chip for goal number 6 finished the game.
A great game which was played in a very good spirit, maybe too good from our side.
Good luck to Eynesbury in Round Two.
